The Oberlin Summer Theater productions for 2018 have begun! Make your plans now to come and see Little Women, Picnic, and Romeo and Juliet! This will be the 10th year of live entertainment presented at the Festival by professional actors and drama students. It has been the mission of the Festival since the beginning to present free productions of meaningful theater classics. Yes, you read that word correctly, all of the plays are FREE! The plays are presented on a rotating rep which means that production dates are rotated. This makes it possible for people to come and see not just one but maybe two or even all three plays.
The Rotating Repertoire for Little Women, Romeo and Juliet, and Picnic
The first play to open on June 22 was Little Women. It will be performed alone until Romeo and Juliet opens on July 6. Then these two plays will rotate on different nights for two weeks after which Picnic will open on July 20. This time frame, from July 20 to August 5, is the time when you can plan your visit so you can attend all three plays in just a couple of days.
As mentioned earlier the cast is made up of professional actors so you can expect professional performances.
So now that you have planned to get play tickets its time to look for lodging accommodations. Some of you might want to stay in town close to all the small town action. But we suggest you plan a quiet stay in the country. Sit, relax, and sip a cool drink. Relax beside a crystal clear 20 ft. X 40 ft. in-ground swimming pool! Enjoy a full breakfast in the morning on the pool deck.
Hallauer House is only 4 miles from the theater, a 6 minute drive to town. Why stay anywhere else! We’ve got it covered so go ahead and
