Attack on Fort Sumter

The tension between the North & South came to a head when President Lincoln decided to hold on to Ft. Sumter in Charleston, S.C. Nobody was killed in the battle, but during the salutes of the Confederate victory, Private Daniel Hough was killed and so became the first casualty of the Civil War.

And don't forget the great Lake Erie, just 15 minutes north, where you can enjoy boating, fishing, or just relaxing on the beach.

Oberlin is a small college town home to many unique retail stores, antique shops, and first class restaurants. There are musical and/or theatrical venues presented almost every weekend, a 13 mile bike trail to wander down, a world class art museum and a renowned museum of local history to explore. The Lorain County Metro Parks and Findley State Park are first class. You will leave wanting more!
