A Bed and Breakfast Blog
While I write this first installment of the 1830 Hallauer House Bed & Breakfast Blog I am listening to new age music. The “Gift of Love” by Nadama from her CD Lover’s Lounge is playing on XM Radio. The sun is shining and it is 50 degrees. It certainly does not feel like tomorrow is the first day of Winter! But the Christmas tree is up and all is ready for the big day on Monday.
If you have visited our web site, www.hallauerhousebnb.com, you already know a couple of things about us. Both Joe and I are retired public school teachers and we’re both from a food background. Joe’s mother owned a bakery in Dayton and my dad had a restaurant in Wooster.
After visiting a not so great B & B many years ago, we both agreed that we could do a much better job. So we proceeded to find the perfect house, launch our kids, and retire from teaching. And finally 4 years ago we welcomed our first guests to the 1830 Hallauer House Bed and Breakfast.
Through our web site and our BLOG or Journal, as some will call it, we want to give our guests the opportunity to learn about our B & B. And we want to share a little about ourselves so you will be comfortable staying with us. Joe is excited to talk about the history of this house along with history about the Civil War and the Underground Railroad. And through the BLOG we will pass on information about Oberlin College and Conservatory and the Oberlin community. We are planning articles about things to do in Lorain County, places to eat, and upcoming events.
So come along with us as we begin our journey. Our BLOG will weave in and out of restaurants, museums, parks, theaters, shops, and so much more! Visit us in person, on our website, or continue to read our journal. Come for the history, stay for the fun, and leave with the memories!
