Founded in 1979, The Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA) is an independent, non-profit art organization in Oberlin, Ohio dedicated to enhancing public appreciation of and participation in the visual arts through exhibitions and related educational and community activities. FAVA presents changing exhibitions of high quality artwork in a variety of styles and media and the exhibit there now is showcasing art in the form of quilts. This is the 17th biennial exhibition of the designs and artistry that goes into making contemporary quilts of all shapes and sizes. Thirty-two artists from around the US were chosen for the juried show where the artists were encouraged to create and push the boundaries by using traditional and non-traditional techniques, fabrics and technologies.
