So yesterday I planned to share a recipe and a picture of the breakfast entree but remembered after guests began eating that I had not taken a picture of it! The best laid plans I guess!
A few days ago Joe and I sat down for a quick lunch and turned on the TV to find that ‘The Chew‘, the cooking show on ABC with Michael Symon, Cleveland’s Iron Chef, was about half was through. So while we enjoyed lunch we also enjoyed watching their guest chef, Michael Currence, prepare his very own Monkey Bread recipe. And this morning I made it for the guests to enjoy as a first course with fresh fruit. And I remembered to take some pictures of it to share in this post. The recipe itself is easy to prepare and easy to serve. As I read through the ingredient list I found that I had everything except the canned biscuits and the dark brown sugar. So I did a substitution and used 1 can of Biscuit Grands and light brown sugar. The one can of biscuits filled the pan nicely and the lighter sugar produced a finished product that was just not as dark as the original recipe shown on the TV show.
So if you are ready for some decadent goodness you might want to get the recipe here, collect your ingredients, and make some Monkey Bread! How did it get that name anyway?! And by the way – all 5 guests gave it 5 thumbs up!
