Cinnamon Coffee Cake Recipe<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n\n1 c. flour<\/span><\/li>\n1\/4 c. sugar<\/span><\/li>\n1\/4 c. packed brown sugar<\/span><\/li>\n1\/2 tsp. baking soda<\/span><\/li>\n1\/2 tsp. baking powder<\/span><\/li>\n1\/4 tsp. cinnamon<\/span><\/li>\n1\/2 c. buttermilk<\/span><\/li>\n1\/3 c. margarine (softened)<\/span><\/li>\n1 egg<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nMix ingredients together<\/span><\/li>\nPut in 9″ round pan<\/span><\/li>\nSprinkle on TOPPING MIX<\/span><\/li>\nRefrigerate overnight<\/span><\/li>\nBake at 350 about 20-25 min. Hash Brown Quiche Recipe<\/b><\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n 3 cups, shredded frozen hash browns, thawed and drained \n4 T. butter, melted \n3 large eggs \n1 cup half and half \n1 cup shredded cheddar cheese \nSalt, pepper, and herbs of choice \nOptional: 3\/4 c. diced ham and\/or 1\/2 c. sliced green onion<\/span><\/p>\n\n\nDIRECTIONS<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<\/li>\n\nDry hash browns between paper towels<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n\nIn 9-in pie plate, toss hash browns with butter and press \u00a0 into bottom and up sides of pie plate<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n\nBake crust at 400 degree for 20 to 25 min. till brown and crisp<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n\nMeanwhile combine the remaining ingredients<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n\nLower the oven temperature to 350<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n\nWhen hash brown crust is ready, pour egg mixture over it and return to over. Bake for about 30 min. until quiche is light brown and puffed. Knife inserted in center will come out clean.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n \nPuff Pancake with Cherry Sauce and Almonds<\/p><\/div>\n
Puffed Pancake with Cherry Almond Sauce Recipe<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\nPancake: <\/b> \n2 T. butter \n1 1\/4 c. flour \n1 T. sugar \n1\/4 tsp. salt \n1 1\/4 c. milk \n4 eggs<\/span><\/p>\n Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Divide butter into 4-6 10oz. custard cups. Place in oven long enough to melt butter. Combine flour, sugar, and salt. Then add milk and eggs, beat until smooth. Divide batter into the hot custard cups. Bake 30-35 minutes and watch the pancake rise!<\/span><\/p>\nCherry Almond Sauce \n<\/b>1 can Cherry Pie Filling \n1\/2 stick butter \n1\/3 c. brown sugar \n1\/4 cup light corn syrup \n1\/2 tsp. almond extract \nCook all ingredients except extract til blended & bubbly. Remove from heat, add extract. Mix and ladle into puff holes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n\n
CIVIL WAR HARDTACK RECIPE<\/b><\/span><\/i><\/i><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n5 Cups Flour (unbleached)<\/span><\/li>\n1 Tablespoon Baking Powder<\/span><\/li>\n1 Tablespoon Salt<\/span><\/li>\n1-1 1\/4 cups Water<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nCombine the ingredients to form a stiff, but not dry dough. The dough should be pliable, but not sticky.<\/span><\/li>\nTake the dough and flatten it out onto a greased cookie sheet.<\/span><\/li>\nRoll the dough into a flat sheet appr. 1\/2 inch thick.<\/span><\/li>\nUsing a bread knife, divide the dough into 3×3 inch squares.<\/span><\/li>\nTake a 10-penny nail, put a 3×3 matrix of holes into the surface of the dough, all the way thru, at even intervals<\/span><\/li>\n\nBake in 450 degree oven for apr 20 Min., till lightly browned. Take out and let cool.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Do this the day before your go on the field, and your will have enough tack to fill your haversack.
