Historical Road Show Tour – Antique Toys

Antique doll collection
The Historical Road Show Tour with our antique toys is taking place right here in Lorain County. This is the second year that Hallauer House B & B will be participating in the tour. Last year we displayed many of our items from the Civil War period. Included were our Union and Confederate uniforms, swords, pistols, money, and more. This year we will be exhibiting some of our antique toys, dolls, and trains. These will all be on display under our three Christmas trees adorned with Civil War themed ornaments.
Southern Lorain County
Three years ago people from 6 Southern Lorain County historical societies got together to brainstorm ways to bring their local histories to life. Out of that collaborative effort came the idea for the Historical Road Show Tour. It was decided that each of the historical societies would choose a “theme” for their presentation. A map was laid out and the public was invited to follow the map to the six different stops on the tour. This tour then presents the opportunity for people from all over the county and beyond to take a trip back in time. It is a way to learn a little local history by discovering township historical societies, their museums, and their hidden treasures.
